Title of assignment: Analysis of an educational leaflet
Write up to a maximum of 3000 words in which you discuss the educational leaflet
for your case study, that you developed during seminars of OT1601. Provide an
introduction and conclusion, along with specific examples from the case study, but
do not include the whole case study description.
Using approximately 6-18 academic references to support your arguments, discuss
the strengths and limitations of the leaflet including the following:
How well the leaflet might assist the client
Whether the leaflet is suitably tailored to your client’s cultural background and
environmental context.
How successfully, or not, it communicates the information to the client and/or carer.
Discussing the leaflet design, style and methods of communication.
How it demonstrates one ethical principle.
How effectively you incorporated one part of either the biopsychosocial or the social
model of disability.
Identify one part of your verbal or written communication in the leaflet or during your
group planning that was not effective. Identify one future learning need to improve
that communication.

5. Engage with your feedback
At the start of your assignment, please include three areas you would like the marker to focus
their annotations on. The annotations will not be limited to these areas, but will support the
marker’s awareness of your personal learning goals. You may use bullet points, and please write
no more than a short paragraph in total.

7. Grading of the assessment
The assignment will be marked with reference to the marking rubric below, which describes our
expectations in relation to the assessment. A single mark will be derived from a holistic
judgement about the assessment – the indicative weightings of each criterion below is for
guidance only.

Arrangements for students with additional needs
It is the student’s responsibility to make the assessment block lead aware of any adjustments they
require to this assessment block as identified within their learning support profiles at least two
weeks in advance of the examination date. In accordance with University practice, students who
would normally receive additional time in written examinations (25%) will not be allowed any
additional time during the examination itself due to its practical nature, unless this has been
specifically identified on a learning support profile as a required adjustment and provided to the
Department at least two weeks in advance of the examination date.
